A Van de Graaff generator is an electrostatic generator which uses a moving belt to accumulate electric charge on a hollow metal globe on the top of an insulated column, creating very high electric potentials. [More]

It produces high voltage DC at low current levels and thus makes it suitable for the f-SEM power source.

Moreover a Van de Graaff generator is mostly a common sight at most school science fairs. Now the only question that remains is how we can stabilize the output and use it.

Additionally it would be beneficial if we could also create a Van de Graaff generator with the commonly available substances to further reduce costs.

Making the Van de Graaff Generator

Using a soda can/two metal bowls(katoris joint together)/ or just foil paper carefully covered over a plastic sphere

A smoothening circuit can then be joined to ensure a stable output towards the f-SEM.
